A pile of gears, numbers and hands
compiled to remind me that I am late,
continually ticking away existence

No denying my dislike
for the measurement of Time
specifically its undeniability

I won't argue with the
rising moon, changing tides, noontime sun
though I have tried

Discounting the clock
didn't stop the calender's pages
and I fear
embracing it will lead to
an ironic ignorance

I want not only to
Use, but Abuse it
to the core.
My victory will lie
in a vengeance sweeter
than simplicity

I must say, it was pretty exciting to see this post. I wrote a poem, which was kinda carried some clockiness in it, then after I made my post and before I closed LJ I checked my friends page one more time, just randomly, not really expecting anything, and there I see this poem. It's pretty neat thinking that while I was writing my poem over there miles away you were writing a similar poem at the same moment. Neat in my head at least. :)

I don't quite get the obedience to the clock=ironic ignorance, as I doubt it is a poem meant to be understood by all, but I still liked it. And I loved the third stanza.

Crazy how the world works like that. I am glad to hear that we are some how cosmically connected still.

As doe that "ironic ignorance" line - I think I'll change it. I don't know how anyone else writes poems, but I just somehow clear my head all together and let it come to me. That was what came, and at first I was like "this doesn't make sense" (to myself, in my head of course) but it wouldn't leave, and I thought maybe it meant that embracing time, playing within it's rules all the time would cause you to lose focus of the reality of time (the reality of life; living). Carefully paying attention to something should not make you lose sight of what you are in fact watching - can that be summed up as 'ironic ignorance'? I don't know, but if it doesn't make sense without an elaborate explaination, or a rather odd, over analytic mind then I think I should change it. When I figure out what I want there, I will probably just edit it in.

Thanks for the imput. Much appreciated. :) and keep on writing, I enjoy every piece you post.
